Angel Angels are like some of the others races listed here, as they come in many shapes and sizes. Angels are human by appearance mostly with the exception of having wings, usually large and strong. Angels are largely believed to be from the heavens but that does not mean that is the only place they could come from. They are stronger, quicker and somewhat smarter then a human even if they are human by birth. |

Archon Archons are majestic demonic beings with huge midnight black horns protruding from their skulls. They possess prehensile barbed tails for which to impale their victims on and huge scaly wings to move about with rapidity |

Banshee The Banshee is always seen in the form of a female human. Sometimes assuming the form of some sweet singing virgin who died young, and is believed to have been given the mission by the invisible powers to become the harbinger of coming doom to her mortal family. She may be seen at night as a shrouded woman, crouched beneath the trees, lamenting and wailing with veiled face, or flying past in the moonlight, crying bitterly, a dark shadowy figure. The cry of the Banshee is mournful beyond all other sounds on earth, and foretells of certain death to some member of the family whenever it is heard. |

Centaur The centaur is a noble being, having the legs and body of a large horse and the torso, arms and head of a man. These people are strange and rare, generally living a solitary life in the woods or hilly country. They are often well versed in horology and are definitely very clever. They tend to live on the fringes of other societies, particularly on the island of Athon where they are respected and revered. |

Demon A demon is commonly knows as a spirit, generally an evil spirit, or a devil. Demons come in many shapes and sizes, there are all types of demons but the one thing that binds them all in common is their inherent evil or dark nature. Demons can sometimes appear in the flesh or as something rather intangible, it is always suggested to treat all contact with a demon very carefully. |

Draconian Closely associated with dragon kind, Draconians are vaguely humanoid in shape, but retain many powers of their ancestors. Their bodies possess exquisite coloration of deep crimson skin intertwined with vivid blue and violet scales. Their wings can vary in size, with some not able to fly. Their forelimbs are short and not prehensile enough to grasp weapons with skill but they do possess strange magical qualities as the power of magic flows strongly through them. |

Dragon Dragons are usually thought to be a huge serpent, a fabulous animal usually represented as a monstrous winged and scaly serpent or saurian with a crested head, enormous claws and scaly skin. Dragon culture is very high and there are various types of Dragons. From the standard version we all imagine in our head, to human form Dragons, they can come in many shapes and sizes. |

Drow Commonly known as the dark elf, they have no tolerance or desire to commune, trade or involve themselves with the other races including elves. They despise all equally and prefer to be left alone although very territorial they will fight to protect their own and will fight to take what they desire. The characteristics of a drow are the same as an elf although the tone of the skin is more grayish in color, and often have black eyes instead of the common blue of the elven race. |

Dryad A tree sprite that looks like a human but has the characteristics of its tree. For example oak dryads will be stout and hoary, ash slender and graceful and so on. If irritated by fire or attempts to chop their trees down (which would kill them) they will attack by throwing dead branches down or perhaps by hemming in their enemy by moving. When they move, unnoticed by human eyes, they can do so quickly behind your back or when you are not looking. A tree without its dryad is a dead thing that can be cut down and made into planks or firewood without any difficulty. Foresters who ‘talk to the trees’ are actually checking to make sure the trees they fell are not occupied by a dryad or sprite |

Dwarf Dwarves are a short, stocky people. They average 4 to 5 feet tall, they have ruddy cheeks, dark hair and dark eyes and generally live 350 years. They are gruff and very calculated, enjoy hard work and have little time for humor. They have a severe hatred of orcs an goblins and dont have a keen like for elves. They are strong and brave an revel in fighting, warcraft and engineering |

Elf Elves are basically human though they are somewhat shorter and thinner. There features include high chiseled cheekbones and the tell-tale pointed ears. Although they appear quite fragile, they are very quick and and strong. They have been known to live over 1200 years. Considered frivolous and aloof, they are not. Even though they tend towards arrogance at times, they regard their friends and associates as equals. They do not make friends easily and a friend or enemy is never forgotten. They prefer to distance themselves from humans, have little or no love for dwarves and despise the evil creatures of the woods. |

Fairy A fairy is a small creature in the form of a man or woman but who is only six inches or about half a foot tall. They have a delicate physique and dragonfly wings that glitter beautifully. Like elves and pixies fairies also have pointed ears. Fairies are, of course, magic in some mysterious way and they can be quite dangerous if provoked. Their clans are nearly always ruled by a queen who has tangible magic powers and can do such things as throw a man into an enchanted sleep, transform people into animals and so on. |

FallenAngel They used to be angels who betrayed or failed their master. Now they are left wandering on earth like lost souls. Usually you will find there wings to be tattered and torn. |

Giant Descended in ancient times from divine and mortal ancestors. The sight of one usually causes great fear and the mustering of heroes. They resemble humans in every way, except for being twice as tall, and proportionally heavier & stronger. Some families of giants are servants of powerful gods. They have an average life span same as humans. |

Gnome Gnomes, or earthmen, are a race of people, standing around three feet tall, which have bluish skin and live underground. Some claim that there are whole nations of gnomes that fight for mastery of the underworld. Although this is hard to substantiate, there is no doubt that they are a numerous race. Occasionally hordes of them burst upon the unsuspecting surface dwellers. They value food more than metal or jewels, the latter being quite easy to obtain underground. |

Goblin A fierce warlike race that prefer to live in and around mountainous terrain, they are very hostile and commonly raid farms, towns , and villages that are near to their area. Goblins are generally clannish but still united as a people. They are roughly of dwarven height and stature, snaggletooth fanged mouths and their yellowish skin is usually wart covered and reminiscent of a frog like creature. |

HalfElf The most common of the mixed races. A half-elf is defined by the number of relatives in the race of the family. If they have more elven relatives then they are consider elven and vice versa. They are quite handsome and usually resemble the elven parent. They mingle freely with both races and never form their own communities although they have their very own dialect. Being slightly taller than an elf at an average of 5 to 5 and a half feet they weigh around 150 lbs. and can live to a 160 years. Halfling Generally a short plump people very much like small humans. The faces are round and the hair is typically curly and the tops of their feet are covered with coarse hair. They seldom wear shoes and have a life expectancy of about 150 years. They are sturdy and industrious and are generally quiet and peaceful.They often are not brave or ambitious but hard working and and honest. They are generally like and tolerated by the elves, dwarves and humans alike. They are not known for their fighting prowess and often seek aide and mercenaries to fight when the need arises. They are commonly referred to as Hairfeets, Tallfellows, Stouts, or Hobbits. |

Harpie Harpies resemble a cross between a human female and a hunting bird, with long talons for feet, and large graceful wings for arms. Vicious and predatory by nature, harpies are the bane of all other life in the areas were they take root. |

Human By far humans are the most populace and common of the many races of any realm. They are more social and tolerant than the other races, accepting the company of elves, dwarves and the like without much complaint. Because of this, humans have become significant powers within the world and often rule empires easier than the other races because of their diversity. |

Lycanthrope One person cursed by lycantropy is affected forever by it. They can change their shape - willingly or not - into the body of an animal, and their ferocity makes them feared everywhere. Like vampires, lycanthropes are considered as a race despite their different origins; the beast in them prevails on their former life. |

Naga Naga are snake-like with a human head and torso attatched to a long thin limbless body. They are also water elementals, thought to be able to control rain. |

Nymph These are water sprites that generally manifest as young women or girls. They enjoy seducing and bewitching handsome young men, especially princes and questing knights |

Ogre Ogres are larger, fiercer cousins of the trolls. They have tough, bony skin and curving horns. Ogres usually operate alone, or bullying a band of trolls. They share the manners of their smaller cousins, showing great fondness for people-flesh. Like trolls, they are almost universally despised |

Orc For the most part orcs are tribal and very unorganized. They tend to stay within their tribes and fight amongst themselves constantly. They are short, green skinned creatures, covered by patches of black matted hair. What the orcs lack in power, knowledge and cunning, they make up for in sheer number |

Pixie These are little people, generally around fifteen to eighteen inches tall, which are often mistaken for fairies. They are, however, a race of people who are just rather small. Apart from their diminutive stature the only other distinguishing features of pixies are their pointed ears and the reddish tint to their skin. Pixies often where green jackets and red, pointed, caps, this is why some folk call them redcaps |

Troll These are nasty and vile creatures despised by all races. They are never found away from their underground lairs. They are very territorial and will attack any creatures that that enter their domain. They are said to hoard treasures of all kinds and often attack caravans that travel through their territories |

Undead Once-living creatures animated by spiritual or supernatural forces. |

Vampire Initially, a newly created Vampire is likely to be basically the same person as they were originally. If not guided through the process of becoming a Vampire, they will not know their limitations or powers and well, need to learn the hard way. Vampires might not be considered a race by most, being people turned and not born ones, but their numbers are large and their lifestyle distinct. They have their own customs just as many races do and that is the reason they are considered as a race. |
