~*Frequently Asked Questions*~

I just joined, how does this work?
We are a medieval role play chat.. In order to receive and send messages you need to click on the "get new messages" command in the tool bar or to send a post, write what you want and click on the "send" command in the first box.

Role-Play is what you make of it.. You create your character, their race, their job, their background, their actions, their emotions, their temperament etc etc...

There is also a bit of out of character chatting going on as well. You can tell if a person is out of character or OOC simply by the way that they put OOC in front of their sentences/posts. We ask that everyone do this so that it isn't so confusing to who is in character and who isn't.

How do I find a race and a job or a character image?
After you log in with your password there will be a button to click on named "Settings". In this next window that appears is where you can choose from a drop down box, a job, a race, and other little details. You can enter a short character description here as well. Some people in chat are available to make character images for you- or you can make your own! Just be sure it fits within the limits of the image rules. You will find image rules on the front page before you enter the realm, however rules state that your character image be no bigger than 300 x 250 and no more than 35k in bytes.

All right, I'm in, now what?
You might want to start right off meeting with people from the realm that are already there, or you may just like to lurk around a bit to get the feel of what is going on. In order to tell who is in the same room as you, look at the bottom of the page in the current user area. In that you will be able to see who is in what room, what their job is and what their idle time is. Idle time is how long it has been since they last posted or checked for new messages. Your idle time will always appear at 0 for you though, being every time you click on send or get new messages it resets.

Whisper To
To whisper to someone is to talk to them privately. Write in the second box; tick the person’s name whom you wish to speak to at the bottom and click on the whisper command. This sends them a message that is only between you and the other person.

How do I move from room to room?
There is a drop down box named "change room" and a drop down box named "room list". By choosing a room in the "room list" box and clicking on the send command button it will move you from room to room. As a Traveller you be able to access most rooms, however, you won’t be able to get into all rooms. The rooms that you wont be able to get into are privately owned rooms or reserved for higher positions within the realm.

I missed a message, how can I tell what was said?
In your commands in the "change room" drop down, you will see something called "last messages" Choose this command if you think you have missed a message from someone else, or upon entering the room to see what was said last you can choose this and see what everyone that has posted last in that room has said. Keep in mind though, when in java, you wont have this command.

When do I move up a level?
We ask that you visit the realm frequently, obey all rules, be helpful to new people when necessary, join in or start quests, and basically make yourself useful when you can. In order to move up from Traveller, you need to look around the realm for a job, or role play your character in a certain way- perhaps as a villain or a merchant- to get a different title and a higher daily gold income.

What is the mail tab?
Mail is just that.. mail! To mail someone within the realm click on the mail tab which will take you to yet another window where you place the member's name in the "To" area and do as if any other email. At the bottom there are send, delete and reply options. Self-explanatory really, but this is a way of mailing other members within the realm. You will see "you have mail" when you first enter a room for the day to let you know that you have mail. To read mail just go into your mail tab and click on the message you would like to read.

Checking the forums is also a good way to find jobs, quests, on-going RPs, competitions and much more!

Homepages here is a place where, if you like, you can create a background on your character and link it to your character's name. Like with the message boards, you will need to create a name and password to use with it. You may also use this area to host your own pictures for your character.
